Kids bedding designer shares playful decor secrets

kids bedding designer shares playful decor tips

If you’re ready to begin decorating your child’s room but don’t know where to start, our kids bedding designer shares four playful decor tips to keep you fun and focused during the process.  Here they are:

Tip 1

Design Discovery with your Child

Believe it or not, getting your child’s input is a must when designing their sleep space.  After all, our goal is for them to feel cozy, calm, and secure at bedtime.  Here are a few fun ways to involve your child:

We Love Surprises

Surprise them with a special plushie you know they will love!  However, this is no ordinary plushie!!  It’s a super “knight” hero! And, when you hold it close, its magical powers ignite, creating happy heroic dreams:)  Use your imagination to make it exciting for them.  You can even give it a superhero cape:)

Ice Cream Sprinkles

Invite them to make ice cream with all different types of sprinkles.  As you make it together, please talk about the colors they like ~ be silly and play. Don’t worry if they like bright colors.  Our friends at Architecture Art Design recommend whites and neutral shades for the base colors,  sprinkling the bolder colors with lampshades, pillows, and wall art.

Dance Party

Inspire them to share ideas in a red light ~ green light dance party:) While in their bedroom space, play happy music and take turns saying red light to share aloud fun ideas and green light to dance together.  Incorporate your dance party discoveries into their room design.  All of the fun will inspire you too:)

Tip 2

Shopping  Bedroom Sets

Now that you have an idea of your theme, it’s time to choose furniture.  Consider the following:

* Growth spurts

Your child will grow fast!  Picking age-neutral pieces will save you time and money in the long run.  If space is an issue, loft or bunk beds are perfect.  Instead of a ladder, mount a safe slide that detaches when they are older. To create a top-secret hideaway, try adding kid-friendly curtains or a canopy to their bed:)

*Clean colors

Experts suggest clean, simple colors for furniture.  Neutral colors like white, grey, tan, or brown tones adapt over time and are ageless.

Tip 3

Get Zesty

*Get zesty with the details. Now you can play with your child’s ideas.  Take a look at some additional ideas our decor specialist suggests:

*Personal art wall

 Proudly display their masterpiece 🙂  Remember to adore the imperfections. Often, it’s the flaws that make our heart sing:)

*Star Constellations

Create star constellations on their ceiling with stickers or add a starry ceiling night light:)

*Chalkboard Paint

Apply chalkboard paint to a wall for fun! And don’t forget the dustless chalk:)

*Wall Murals

If you are considering a mural, paint on a large canvas, or try giant wall stickers for a similar look.  This way, as their interest changes, it’s easier to adapt.

Tip 4

Bedding with a Purpose

* Purposeful Bedding

Think about it.  What is the primary purpose of your child’s bedroom? For me, it’s getting them to sleep soundly through the night. Because when they sleep, then I Sleep;)  If this is your aim, try Tucked+Covered star neutral kids bedding.  Comfy cotton fabric coupled with our innovative bed sheets creates a healthy, calming sleep space.  Our button design eliminates kicked-off sheets ~ a significant sleep disruption for kids!

*Pure Cotton

Invest a few dollars more for the comfort and health of your child.  Phrases such as  “cotton rich” or “cotton blend” mean the fabric is NOT pure cotton.  More than likely, it’s blended with cheaper materials to save the company a few cents.  At Tucked+Covered, we know the importance of using top-quality fabric to soothe your child to sleep.  We only use 100% soft, breathable cotton.

At Tucked + Covered, our mission is better sleep for the whole family:)  That’s why our kid’s bedding keeps your little one s comfy covered, and sound asleep:)  If you like YOUR sleep, give us a try for 30 nights and naps.  Your kids will thank you:)

Rest Well:)
