Getting your Child to Sleep through the Night ~ Go Steam Go:)

Getting your child to sleep through the night when sick
Getting your child to sleep through the night with helpful home remedies

Getting your child to sleep through the night can be challenging when they’re sick.  But never fear!  We have a few sleep tips to help soothe them at bedtime:)

Warm Healing Bath

A warm Epsom salt bath to soothe those aches and pains is perfect morning, noon, or night.  These magical salts, full of magnesium all bodies crave,  help flush out lingering toxins, strengthen our immune system, and relax our muscles and nerves.  For children under 60 pounds, add half a cup of salts to their bath.  For kids weighing 60  to 100, make it one cup.    So, when in doubt, run a warm magical magnesium bath.  It sounds so good; I think I’ll take one today:) Oh, yeah!  In case they get thirsty, have a cool glass of water next to the tub.  It’s best if they don’t drink the water. It tastes yucky.  And, if they take a big gulp, it could cause diarrhea, but I’m pretty sure the taste will detour any unwanted drinking:)

Go Steam Go

Getting your child to sleep through the night with a nagging cough can seem impossible at the moment.  When in doubt, go steam go!  The light moisture from the warm healing Epsom bath will help loosen lingering congestion and mucus. If you want to go steamier and have a separate shower in the same bathroom, close the door and run a hot shower to increase the density.  And to distract your child from the excess steam, make it a teachable moment.  You can say something like, “Did you know we are actually in a cloud right now?  The sky clouds make of lots of moisture, just like this.”  Then, depending on how they feel, you can use their five senses to engage and interact within the cloud.  You know, get their mind off what ails them;) And, if you have a humidifier in their bedroom, you can explain how they are sleeping in a cloud with this healing moisture:)  If we can make it fun for them, then it’s fun for us:)

Dreamy Elevation

Heads up!  If your child is suffering from an earache, itchy cough, and sinus pressure, create a warm, cozy elevated sleep position for your kiddo.  Pampering them with allergen-free pillows set at a 45-degree angle will naturally drain and alleviate congestion away from their ears, nose, and throat.  And if you want to make sure they stay covered, our sheets will do the trick.  This way, you can rest assured they stay comfy and warm.  How? Well,  since our sheets stay in place on the bed, the comforter and blankets sit in a stable position.  It’s all about the base;)  But don’t worry!  Soon we will have compatible blankets, comforters, and duvets for you.  How will this work?  Well,  With compatible buttonholes in place,  we can add or delete bedding layers as we wish, customizing dreamy coverage for your little ones:). Pretty neat, huh? Pun intended:)
