High Quality Kids Bedding Soothes Mosquito Bites:)

High quality kids bedding soothes mosquito bites
Did you know high quality kids bedding helps sooth mosquito bites?

Did you know High-Quality Kids Bedding helps soothe your child’s mosquito bite?  It’s true!  100% soft cotton fabric helps calm the skin.  Add our clever button design, and a natural airflow gently circulates to help calm and heal the sore. But, unfortunately, we’ve all experienced how irritating nagging mosquito bites can be, even when we’re awake!  And when we give in to the itch, which is relatively easy to do, our incessant scratching can create an infection.

That’s why it’s important to spend just a few dollars more for soft and natural high-quality kids’ bedding.  Let’s stop and think about it. How much is a good night’s sleep worth to you?  For me, it’s has seemed priceless at times.   With mosquito bites or any skin irritation for that matter,  itching often intensifies during the night’s silence.  So, believe it or not, choosing calming, breathable bed linens will aid in your child’s skin healing, not to mention a sound night’s rest for both of you:)

Here are a few additional remedies to ease your child’s irritation to further assist you with your little one’s subsequent mosquito encounter.  Try a few and see which one works best for you:)

Cooling Rubbing Alcohol

To treat the bite immediately, have some rubbing alcohol wipes on hand.  You can buy individually wrapped clothes for your purse or playground tote.  So, if you see your child scratch while playing, quickly soothe the area with your handy alcohol wipes to prevent further itching.

 Oatmeal Baths Before Bed

Adding plain oatmeal to a warm bath is an excellent old fashion remedy to soothe most irritated skin.  If you prefer, make a paste by adding a bit of water and honey to the oatmeal and apply it directly to the sore.   Of course, because sugar can attract insects,  this supernatural remedy is an indoor solution.  Let the paste work its magic for about 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.  Finish with a light oil-free moisturizer.

Tea Bag Solution

In the morning, before a day of play, pre-soak a few green or black tea bags and place them in the fridge or freezer. This natural anti-inflammatory will cool the itch and ease the swelling.

 Basil Oil

Before Benadryl, our ancestors found crushing and applying Basil leaves directly to itchy skin worked wonders.  Today, we can also purchase Basil Oil and use it like lotion to soothe the skin.  Or, if you’re feeling crafty, add 1/2 ounce of dried Basil leaves to cups of boiling water.  To apply, dip a washcloth into the pot after it cools and gently treats the affected area.

Antihistamines

Oral antihistamines, like Benadryl or Claritin, help relieve itchiness and swelling by lowering our bodies histamine.  After the mosquito’s bite, our histamine count rises, creating itchy inflammation.  Applying a topical antihistamine, like Calamine lotion, may also help stop the itch:)

Fun Fact:

What’s causes mosquito bites to itch?  These pesky insects not only draw our blood when they strike, but they also instinctually inject their protein-rich saliva.  Because their saliva is foreign to our body, our majestic immune system releases histamine, which helps heal the area.  Unfortunately, the additional histamine is too much for most bodies to handle,  causing itchiness and inflammation.  So, it makes sense that antihistamines balance our system and help us heal:)
