Before Tucked Covered Sheet Design Bed Making for kids was a huge ask
For centuries, an everyday household chore for kids is taking care of their room, including bed making. And, quite frankly, until now, bed making is a massive ask for young children and even teens;) From my experience, implementing proper bed-making skills seems to be an adult task. So, no matter how many times we ask, it’s not going to change the fact that tucking sheets under the mattress is too tricky for little hands. That’s why when I began my initial stages of developing Tucked+Covered’s kids’ bedding design, one of my primary goals was to eliminate the dreaded chore of daily bed making. And, I’m happy to say I did it.
No More Bedmaking? Yep. It’s a thing:)
In the beginning stages of Tucked+Covered’s design development, keeping kids comfy covered all night to avoid needless wake-up calls was first and foremost. But since traditional sheet tucking is so time-consuming, I found a way to delete this age-old dreaded chore. Now that the oversized buttons were holding the top sheet on the bed, I realized I could cut off all of the messy, untucked overhanging fabric; we didn’t need it anymore. Furthermore, eliminating the excess material promoted light and natural air flow circulation to prevent overheating. Yep. Without prior planning, changing one element led me to change another dysfunctional design piece. Lastly, I figured I might as well find a way to hold the corners on the mattress. I mean, fitted sheet corners constantly slip off while we’re sleeping, and it’s so annoying! So, I added corner affixing elastic, so corners stay on the mattress. Adding these three new design elements makes kids’ bedding functional finally. And kids feel proud to keep themselves covered and make their bed. They love it when they can make you happy:)
Most companies differentiate their style with various fabrics and prints, claiming their fabric quality is better than the next guys. No doubt, pure soft cotton is a must for comfy coverage, but during our design process, we found so much more to help your child sleep easy:)
